11th Independent Battery Indiana Light Artillery
Die 11th Independent Battery Indiana Light Artillery, allgemein bekannt als 11th Indiana Battery, war eine Artilleriebatterie des Unionsheeres im Sezessionskrieg.[1] Sie diente in Feldzügen auf dem westlichen Kriegsschauplatz, einschließlich der Schlacht am Chickamauga Ende 1863.[2]
Die Batterie wurde Ende 1861 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, rekrutiert und am 17. Dezember 1861 in Indianapolis, Indiana, in Dienst gestellt. Es wurde befohlen, sich am 6. Februar 1862 in Louisville, Kentucky, zum Dienst zu melden.[3] Die Batterie wurde am 21. November 1864 mit der 18th Indiana Battery konsolidiert.[4][5]
Die Batterie verlor während des Dienstes sechs Soldaten, die getötet und tödlich verwundet wurden, und einen Offizier und 18 Soldaten durch Krankheit.[6]
