The Great Books of Islamic Civilization
The Great Books of Islamic Civilization ist eine englischsprachige Buchreihe mit Übersetzungen wichtiger Werke der islamischen Zivilisation. Sie erscheint in Reading bei Garnet Publishing.
Das Muhammad Bin Hamad Al Thani Centre for Muslim Contribution to Civilization wurde 1983 gegründet, um einem nichtarabischsprachigen Publikum einen Zugang zu wissenschaftlich edierten Werken zu geben, die die Beiträge unterstreichen, welche Muslime dazu geleistet haben. 2010 trat das Zentrum der Faculty of Islamic Studies an der Hamad-bin-Khalifa-Universität bei.[1]
Zum Advisory Committee der Buchreihe gehören Sheikh Muhammad bin Hamad al Thani als Ehrenvorsitzender[2], Hatem El-Karanshawy[3], Muhammad Khalifa Hassan[4], Ibrahim Saleh al Nuaimi[5] und Husam al Khateeb[6]. Special Advisor ist Raji Mahmoud Rammuny[7].[8]
