Tobias Pottek
Tobias Pottek (* 11. September 1959 in Kettwig) ist ein deutscher Urologe und Mitglied der Internationalen Kontinenzgesellschaft (International Continence Society)[1]. Seit 2017 ist er Chefarzt der Rekonstruktiven Urologie und Geschlechtsinkongruenz des Vivantes Klinikum am Urban[2], Berlin.
Werdegang[Bearbeiten]
Pottek wurde in Kettwig [3] geboren. Er studierte die Vorklinik seines Medizinstudiums an der Universität Bochum und die Klinik an der Universität Essen. An verschiedenen Bundeswehrkrankenhäusern bildete er sich in Chirurgie und Urologie weiter. Seine Weiterbildung in Chirurgie erfolgte in Detmold und Hamburg (1986–1987), während seine urologische Weiterbildung in Hamburg (1992–1996; 1996–1997) und Berlin (1996) und in einem Allgemeinkrankenhaus Hamburg (1997–1998) stattfand.[2]
Pottek begann als urologischer Berater im Bundeswehrkrankenhaus Hamburg (1998–2003). Währenddessen wurde er zum Chefarzt der Urologie im SFOR-Feldkrankenhaus in Bosnien und Herzegowina (1998–1999) und dem Kosovo (2002). Nachdem er als Berater seinen Dienst geleistet hatte.
Nach seinem Dienst in der Bundeswehr, wurde Tobias Pottek zunächst Chefarzt der Urologie in der Regioklinik Wedel (2007–2009) und danach im Asklepios Westklinikum Hamburg (2009–2017). Seit 2017 arbeitet er als Chefarzt der rekonstruktiven Urologie und Geschlechtsinkongruenz im öffentlichen Vivantes Klinikum am Urban in Berlin.[1][2][4]

Forschung[Bearbeiten]
Tobias Pottek hat über einhundert peer-review-Artikel veröffentlicht. Seine Forschung bezieht sich unter anderem auf klinische Versuche, die Sicherheit, Wirksamkeit und Risiken verschiedener medizinischen Produkte, die in der Behandlung der männlichen Harninkontinenz eingesetzt werden, untersuchen. Diese Forschungen umfassen einerseits künstliche Harnblasenschließmuskel oder verstellbare Schlingen (Male Slings) und andererseits Schwellkörperprothetik, auch bei Transgender Personen. Tobias Pottek war zudem Teilnehmer der Konsultation zum europäischen Plan zur Krebsbekämpfung, Diagnose und Behandlung von Keimzellenkrebs[4][5][6]. Tobias Pottek hat des Weiteren viele Interviews über urologische Themen an Deutsche Welle, Men´s Health und Bild gegeben.[7][8][9][10]
